In the face of massive biodiversity loss, climate change, forest resource grabbing, and the violence experienced by many who inhabit and defend forests, every opportunity to nurture collective thinking, strengthen arguments, struggles and alliances for sustainable and equitable forest management is important.
As part of AGTER’s December online course on forest governance, a series of video-forums were organized around guest speakers. These forums will present and discuss concrete experiences of community-based management and national and international frameworks related to forests from different regions of the world.
The association has decided to open these meetings to the public to share the presentations of the guests as well as the exchanges with the twenty or so people who attend this training. Members of forest community organizations, technical support organizations for community forestry, rural and forestry development professionals, researchers, students and journalists, they participate from 9 countries in South and Central America.
In which languages?
Although all the members of this group are Spanish-speaking, some videoconferences can be followed in other languages. The presence of non-Spanish speaking speakers has required the use of interpreters. The calendar below indicates the languages available for each one.
How to connect to the visios?
The links to connect to the visios are sent shortly before each conference by email to the mailing list of announcements of thematic meetings and to subscribers of the AGTER newsletter. We invite you to subscribe to these lists if you are not already a subscriber (on the home page of the site).
