The constitution of AGTER is part of a history of global meetings dedicated to the problems of access to land and governance of natural resources (see The roots).

Since its creation, the association has worked to maintain the dynamics of exchange of views and mobilization on these subjects.

It co-organized and provided the secretariat for the World Forum on Access to Land and natural resources FMAT2016, whose proceedings and preparations are presented in this section.

Today, it is at the heart of the citizen development of the WFAL: the Forum of Struggles for Land and Natural Resources (FLT), also described in this section.
